Message If you own a Z one of the very first tool you should own is the Consult Cable and the Nissan Data scan program!!! Bar None. Which BTW you can purchase from whatsthegoodword in the classified section. This by far is the greatest tool you can own if having a 300zx between the years of 1990 and 1995. 96 models will work but you have to get the OBD2 port.

Here is a bunch of tools I use over and over again.
1. LOOOOONG Needle nose pliers for clamps esp the ones between the upper radiator pipe.
2. Socket Allens for the drive shaft bolts and then upper plenum bolts and timing covers. etc
3. Air tools such as impact wrench and 90 degree sander.
4. wrenches that are like ratchets.
5. Need a couple of large sockets for taking off the power steering banjo bolts underdrive pulley etc etc
6. real looooong extensions for taking the tranny bolts out real easy like.
7. you will need those socket knuckles for the tranny bolts and other bolts as well.
8. Open ended wrenches for the O2 sensors and the egr tube that runs into the exhaust manny.
9. get a pick set so you can get the wiring harness off without breaking the clips. You can buy a 4 pick set at harbour freight for cheap.
10. X acto knife for making your own gaskets.

These are a few things off the top of my head that I use alot of when building and ripping apart a Z car.
